Synopsis:

"You have to kill him." Imprisoned in the heart of a secret military base, Em has nothing except the voice of the boy in the cell next door and the list of instructions she finds taped inside the drain.

Only Em can complete the final instruction. She’s tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present—imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called the doctor while war rages outside.

Marina has loved her best friend James since the day he moved next door when they were children. A gorgeous, introverted science prodigy from one of America’s most famous families, James finally seems to be seeing Marina in a new way, too. But on one disastrous night, James’s life crumbles apart, and with it, Marina’s hopes for their future. Now someone is trying to kill him. Marina will protect James, no matter what. Even if it means opening her eyes to a truth so terrible that she may not survive it. At least not as the girl she once was.

All Our Yesterdays is a wrenching, brilliantly plotted story of fierce love, unthinkable sacrifice, and the infinite implications of our every choice.

All Our Yesterdays is just beyond words!

To be honest, I wasn't really in the mood to read this yet but it was a good thing Dianne still sent it because OMYFRAKKINGGOODNESS, it was SO good! It is the-best-blueberry-cheesecake delicious!

Em and Finn have to go back four years in the past. They have to stop the Doctor from murdering people and from making a huge scientific breakthrough gone terrible wrong. They have to relive their once beautiful past to save everyone but some feelings remained. Em couldn't seem to focus in killing the Doctor for every time she looks at the person, she remembers how much she loved him.

The premise just like what All Our Yesterdays presented was seriously out of this world and I mean it the best way possible. Time travel merged with Sci-Fi and unrequited romance was just simply a nuclear bomb! If Terrill was intending to create a novel that for sure will bombard readers with so much awesomeness, well, I am one hundred and seven percent certain she nailed it. Woah. I need to take a deep breath because it was THAT really awesome. When I talk about time travel novels, there's a small part of me that is always skeptical. I think Time Travel is one of the most critical genres so an author's take on it would really make or break a novel. However, Terrill, for some reason, perfected not only time travel but also how she totally developed the plot. From time jumping to highly advanced experiments, I was awed by the vastness of the story. It wasn't confusing rather it all came together with a punch in the gut. Three punches, actually. The impact of the story kept me guarding my heart because of the action-packed scenes. Also, I was anxious as to what part the twists would happen because this isn't your typical "predictable" book. OMG, I didn't see any of that coming! It was unbelievably mind blowing! And this is one of those books you cannot think of putting down! It was incredible!

The characters are all impressive! Having Em, the protagonist, meet her old self Marina four years back was an extreme way of how time travel has been taken into account. Most of the time travel novels I've read wouldn't permit the present self to meet the old one but in the story, it just made perfect sense. I adore Em for being so true to herself by admitting that she cannot harm the one she USED to deeply love no matter how evil the person turned out to be. I guess I appreciate and value honestly and come on, most of the protagonists we have are all in self-denial. Like always. But Em? No, she's different. She's so courageous and selfless to take advantage of such highly created technology to right the mistakes the past caused. Even if it would cause her life, she stands firm on her ground and grips tight to the only reason why she wants to go back. It hurts to see things through her eyes but one can appreciate her toughness in the story. However, there were just moments Em became too emotional that it consumed her. But I guess, there's always a weak spot in each of us. Good thing she wasn't alone. Finn who is her current boyfriend helps her to focus on their objective. I want to hug Finn for not giving up on anything and for enduring the pain of looking at Em, possibly still in love with her best friend. Finn is courageous also to man up and be with Em all throughout no matter what the stakes are. I just couldn't understand why he fell for Em but I love him. But I think I would go for the bad guy this time. I always have a thing for bad guys anyway! So Jason was the golden boy. He has everything this life has to offer yet he was also consumed by grief and loss that he became someone capable of inflicting pain. I totally understand what he was going through and it was obvious he was manipulated. His grief over his family was clouded by the pain that it pushed him to do the impossible. But it changed him. And the ending of it? Totally heroic.

All Our Yesterdays is a highly recommended novel that would twist your innards and make your brain cells go haywire! It was such dark, dangerous, action-packed and fast-paced story that would keep you hyperventilating with every flip of the page! It totally loved the nerve-wracking combo of Time Travel and Sci-Fi! And the unrequited romance? HEART-SHATTERING! This, I think, is one of MY novels for the year!

Thank you again Dianne of Oops, I Read a Book Again! for lending me your ARC!

"But progress is always dangerous, isn't it? Most of the time, walls don't get dismantled brick by brick. Someone has to crash through them."
But soon we’ll be gone, so this is my last chance.” He gives me a shy little smile. "“I love you.""
"I almost regret having to tell him this. No one should be confronted with the depths of darkness they're capable of all at once."
