I won't going to make this long but today is my blog's 5th birthday! Whew! 5 years old! WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK, RIGHT? I couldn't believe I've been doing this for 5 years now! It's been such an enjoyable journey and even though there are bumps in the road, it's still the one thing I wouldn't give up on. I've thought about quitting during those stressful/lazy times but then realization hits me that blogging has been such a huge part of my life I just couldn't you know, stop. So well, ummm, thank you for following, for reading and for staying with me. It's an honor to be an inspiration to others and I always say this, I wouldn't trade this experience for anything else.

Thank you, guys, really. It means so SO much to me that you are still here.

Happiest 4th blogoversary, The Bookaholic Blurbs!

Wow. 4 years. The blog is 4 years old. This doesn't only make me absolutely grateful but proud. I feel so proud that I managed to come this far and that the love I have for books never ceased. I am so proud that in 4 years, there's so much improvement and accomplishment. Gaining new friends, staying in touch with the old ones and being able to help out newbies give such thrilling sense of affirmation. And those readers who stayed with me all this time? You are all a gem!

I won't make this post long but again, to our amazing bookish community, thank you for making this life such a grand one! Without this community, I would have been lost. In more ways than I could ever let you know,  you saved me and thank you for that. YOU MAKE THIS THE RIDE OF A LIFETIME!

THE BOOKAHOLIC BLURBS TURNS 3!!

Today (well technically and officially last May 27), this blog reached another milestone and that is its 3rd birthday!

Truth be told, I have been neglecting a lot of things lately. Not only the blog but books/reading in general. Also my laundry. :) But seriously, I've been preoccupied with LIFE that everything is overwhelming I couldn't focus. I had to lie-low on reading/blogging because time has been a bitch to me. Last year it was because I was so freaking addicted to Clash of Clans (I stopped playing) and this year, building Gundams for my #TheGuardiansoftheLibrary army took a huge part on this life slump (I will stop building soon). The worst part of it all is I lost the motivation to blog and read. I nearly deleted the blog. I was suddenly back on this never ending loop of not wanting/wanting to do blogging. It felt too chore-y to me -- again. I lost the capacity to enjoy what I do and it came to a point I question the very reason why I started blogging. I also question my personal life choices because apparently, I suck at it, too. I wanted to just.. STOP. Stop doing whatever sucky stuff I do, stop feeling bad for so many things, just STOP altogether at once. Nothing makes sense in my life these past few months so I stopped buying books, I stopped reading, I stopped Instagramming, Tweeting, I stopped talking to friends. The only good thing that came out of it was I realized I don't want unnecessary things in my life anymore. I mean, I will always be bookish but I would only buy those titles I really, REALLY want. I realized I don't need any of it and the hoarding phase is now over. Surprisingly, am so okay with it. It somehow made the load lighter.

This is my third year blogging and what have I learned? A lot. But enumerating them would eat up this post so let me just thank you all for putting up with me. I've gained a few followers since last year on the blog (from 340 last year to 364 on GFC) and on Facebook (from 501 last year to 700+), lost a lot on IG (from 1780 to 1703) and Twitter (from 940 down to 916) but my page views kept going up. Am totes okay with these numbers so thank you guys for waiting for me to get back up and start posting whatever. Thank you for all the private messages asking if am okay and thank you for missing me screaming on Twitter. It means the world to me. Am slowly getting back (almost done with I Was Here, yay!) and I have two reviews I haven't drafted yet but will get to, soon. Thank you so, SO much for not leaving me. I owe you one, guys.

Thank you also to my bookish friends who have given me the energy I needed to even come up with an anniversary post. You know who you are (but Kai, am looking at you!). Thank you to Harpercollins International and National Bookstore. If it weren't for you guys, I would have given this up.

Everything will go back to normal but just on an even slower pace this time. Am going to take all the time I need so I could enjoy it like how I once did to give decent blog posts. I got my dream job and started working last April as a Software Analyst and that's what I seriously need to focus on. Aside from that, there are other adult stuff which requires my attention like getting my own house and pursuing traveling so the blog will have to go a few notch lower on my priority list. I also have to mend this freaking broken heart.

For everything that you guys are and everything that you do, thank you, thank you, thank youuuuuuu!!

THE BOOKAHOLIC BLURBS TURNS 2!

Woohoo!! The Bookaholic Blurbs just turned 2! (Been technically blogging for 3 years, but this blog officially is just 2) OMG. Who would believe that I'd last this long in the blogging world? Am just super grateful that though I've been on a on/off reading/blogging slump since late last year, am still here, trying to cope with everything! HAHA! So guys, thank you for sticking with me through these years!

The blog (and blog related) stats moved up a notch this year, too. Look!

And GFC followers (340), Bloglovin' (200) as well as page views (70k) went up, too! So thank you so much bookish friends for the continued support! Seriously, this has been an amazing bookish year!

I know I've been a terrible blogger and honestly, all I did lately was to buy books and Instagram them HAHA. I've been so addicted to this mobile game called Clash of Clans and it truly consumes all my free time. Thus the lack of reviews. But now, I would try again to go back to reading and reviewing. Hopefully I could post twice a week just like before. I will be better this year. *fingers crossed* And I don't know what else to say aside from thank you, guys! Our bookish community is really the nicest one to belong to. All the support I need is right here! So thank you, really from the center of my heart!

THE BOOKAHOLIC BLURBS TURNS ONE!

Yay! I cannot believe my eyes when I looked at the calendar earlier today!

My book blog on Blogger just turned ONE!

I've always loved reading and doodling even as a kid. I would grab a book and pretend reading even if I didn't really know how to. I also would play around as a secretary and write or doodle words as if I was signing an important document. My dad loves writing, he has a ton of journals, so probably I got that writing thing from him. I started loving books when I first laid my eyes on a ginormous set of old school encyclopedias back then. The set was dazzling.

Then as I enter high school, I started reading some adult fiction. Paulo Coelho's Veronica Decides To Die and 11 Minutes were my first reads. Then I collected (and lost) 30 issues of Candy Magazine. I loved reading their love and fashion tips and other informative columns. There was also a house few blocks away from mine that has an entire living room full of Sweet Valley High novels that we rent. Harry Potter series that I just borrowed also hooked me up but I eventually stop reading because life happened. Been on a horrible reading slump for years but the most important and special novel that made me go back to reading was Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. (I will forever be proud that am a fan!).

Early in 2011 was when I started blogging. I've always dreamed of becoming a "blogger". There's so much pride in it. So I ventured onto Tumblr. I loved it so much and it made me appreciate not only writing but how I run my life. I blog mostly about my personal day to day life and a little bit about books. Since I was earning a little, I started indulging in stacking titles I've always wanted to get. I had no idea about book blogging back then so all I did was just post pictures of my new books and forget whatever the feels were. I wasn't really content with the chaotic mixed blog, so I decided to make one on Blogger. The OCD in me kicked me in the butt that made me transfer blogs, then changed URL and finally settled with this one. (As I am writing, I am still trying to figure out how to move to Wordpress.). My bookish online adventure started early 2011 but this account was created MAY 27, 2012 and I just transferred everything from the old blog (manually and messily) to this one.

The ups and downs I've gone through were the very main reasons I am still here blogging. Blogging have taught me so many things and allowed me to have people in my life who are all worth keeping. I've met people from all around the world! It is just an exhilarating and invigorating experience that the humbleness in it is overwhelming! And looking back, my bookish dreams did come true!

And without my blogger friend's (namely: Kai, Precious, Dianne, Dani, Leslie, Kazhy, Eunice, Chyna, Tiff, Alyanna, Geraldine, Maricar, Nicole, 2 Michelle's and Louisse) support, I'm not sure if I would have lasted this long. Also, to all of you who drops by, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart especially to Erwin who never fails to like every book-related thing I post on Facebook! I would also never forget the person who helped me and guided me back when I was still starting, Liz, you know how much am thankful to you, right? Thank you also to Giselle of Booknerd Canada and Braine of Talk Sup. ANDDDD, to Lucy of Fully Booked, thank you for always being a tweet away whenever I needed a title and to JB of National Book Store, I feel a legit blogger more than ever because of you!
