MEETING THE AUTHOR: LAUREN KATE IN MANILA 2016.

So 16 hours after the event, my legs are still noodles and my shoulders still hurt but my heart is happy. I missed my blogger friends so much I wish I had seen them all yesterday but most of them are busy they couldn't attend. Thankfully, Louisse, Hazel and Lyra attended the event and it was all I could hope for. It has been a while since I went to a public signing and true, it was legit tiring but you know, nothing could top off the screaming and enthusiasm of fans! Just worth all the blood and pain haha

Just like what I told Hazel, Fallen series is one of the first novels that introduced me to Young Adult that's why my love for it just never dwindles. Imagine meeting the love of your life but when you kiss her, she dies? Then you meet each other again after seventeen years? Then this time, when she dies, that's it? LIKE WTAF? My faves are Fallen and Rapture because I think the essense of the entire series are in there. I have been trying to find hardbounds of these but the only ones I saw are in a boxed sets. I want them all in hardbound, you guys.

I arrived in Greenbelt 5 around 12 noon and I was 228 in line. So we went around first, ate lunch then waited. I wasn't there when Lauren and Harrison arrived but the Q and A was happening. Harrison Gilbertson looked short from afar but when I stood next to him, I think he's around 5'9"! Oh and he's soooo good looking you guys! HAHA! I never heard of him actually but when he was waving hello, I couldn't help but giggle! He's sooooo nice! (AND SOFT)

I was only able to get three of my books signed: Fallen in Love, Torment and Unforgiven because I don't have Fallen, Passion and Rapture in hardbound (also because only three books are allowed). So yeah, I have no issues waiting for like, three or four hours to get to meet Lauren but I was legit disheartened when it was my moment, right there, in front of her. She was absolutely tired AF and didn't have the energy to talk. She sounded condescending in a way, like, she didn't wanna talk at all? I DUNNO MAN AM SORRY BUT SHE SOUNDED SARCASTIC LOL. I didn't ask her what I've been wanting to anymore because I felt like she just wanted to get the signing over with. (Now I am actually wondering how Victoria Aveyard did it for 1k fans). I waited for this moment, to meet Lauren, since that time I fell in love with Fallen which was around 2012. I am thankful forever to National Bookstore for bringing her here. But it wasn't what I hoped it would be. It felt like Colleen Hoover Encounter again but worst.

I'm still grateful though that I was able to have the opportunity to meet her and I will forever treasure the experience. I cannot wait to re-read Fallen series! Fallen and Rapture are my top faves! (I said that, right?)

Daniel and Luce's love story captured me and helped me find my way back to reading. I loved the Fallen series and the fact that Lauren Kate will be releasing a new series soon is exhilarating. She shared the cover of her new series, Teardrom, on her facebook page the other day! I cannot simply wait for this one!

What lead me to this series is the synopsis where Lucinda dies and reincarnates every after 17 years just to be with Daniel. It is interesting and extraordinary for me. Then add that captivating cover of course. When I finished Fallen, Torment and Passion, all I could ever think of is fast-forward time so I could read and know the ending of the series. And after several months of waiting, here I am, staring at my book and making the review.

I just couldn't believe how Lauren provided us with such amazing ending to the series that something quite unexpected. I thought that Rapture is just the perfect way to make Luce and Daniel be together. Aside from that, Lauren acknowledged her Filipino fans which I think is a very nice deed from an author. (Am so proud!)

You see, the first time I cried over a character's death was during Sirius Black's in Harry Potter and Rapture's several characters would be the second. Yes, a lot of great characters have died and again, you would never expect who those characters were. Its also answered all my parked questions since Fallen and clearly, this last one made the whole series extra-spectacular. One of my favorite parts is when Lucinda remembered that there are still Outcasts left and she spoke their names. There's this pride and respect not only for Lucinda but the way Lauren managed to give importance to all the characters equally. Friendship, trust and respect are all portrayed in such a way that you would never look at relationships ordinarily like you used to. (Cam and Daniel stayed together so as Roland, Annabelle, Shelby, Miles, Gabbe, Molly and Arriane. They've done so much because they believed in each other no matter what their differences are). I also would like to point the parts where the curse was thoroughly explained, how important that we learn from the lessons of the past, that there's no other things greater than God and love would really find its way to you.

Among all the books in the series, Fallen and Rapture are my favorites. Lauren started a story that is mind blowing and ended it with so much compassion. It is a truly endearing story that any angels would love to read over and over.

Among the Fallen books I have, hmmmm, this was not a good buy for me. I love Daniel, Luce and Lauren Kate but am not sure why I didn't like this very much. This was just short love stories of Shelby and Miles, Roland and Rosaline, Arianne and Tess (I didn't expect that Arianne's a lesbian) and Daniel and Luce occurred in medieval England on a Valentine's day. I bought the hard bound copy because of course I was excited only to regret it. If you'll gonna buy it, wait for the paperback edition. All in all, I wasn't really satisfied but am all giddy for Rapture!
