THE BOOKAHOLIC BLURBS IS OFFICIALLY 4.

Happiest 4th blogoversary, The Bookaholic Blurbs!
Wow. 4 years. The blog is 4 years old. This doesn't only make me absolutely grateful but proud. I feel so proud that I managed to come this far and that the love I have for books never ceased. I am so proud that in 4 years, there's so much improvement and accomplishment. Gaining new friends, staying in touch with the old ones and being able to help out newbies give such thrilling sense of affirmation. And those readers who stayed with me all this time? You are all a gem!

I won't make this post long but again, to our amazing bookish community, thank you for making this life such a grand one! Without this community, I would have been lost. In more ways than I could ever let you know,  you saved me and thank you for that. YOU MAKE THIS THE RIDE OF A LIFETIME!

To celebrate this monumental day for the blog, here's one for you!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Here's to more books and years to celebrate!

  1. Congrats on 4yrs!! :)
If I had a billion dollars, I'd give some to my mom, and then buy a lot and build my dream house with a library!

  3. I would buy a small and convenient house & a big shelf for my books & of course, food & more books, and a professional camera, an iPhone maybe, and save the rest. Thanks for this & happy 4th anniversary!

  4. If, one day, I wake up a billion dollars richer, I'd probably save 3/4's of it in my bank account, and use the remaining 1/4 to give to my family (seeing that they deserve all the luxuries in the world because they're awesome fam!) as well as going on book hauls all day, everyday (A guy can dream, right? HAHAHA!)

Also, thanks for the chance on your giveaway, Ate Kate! Happy 4 years! <3

  6. If I wake up with a billion dollars, I would probably give half to my family. Then I would put half of what's left for me in my savings account for emergencies then the other half would be for my everyday needs and wants. Or maybe I would start my very own bookshop.

Thank you for the giveaway! I'm also a Filipino book blogger (new to the community, hi!), here's my link if you're interested: http://mindofluxe.wordpress.com

  7. Congratulations of four years Kate! That's amazing. Your blog is lovely (and you of course, too!) and I hope you'll keep it for a long time to come. I love reading your posts :))

If I'd woke up with a billion dollars I'd probably put away 3/4 of it on my savings account and divide the rest of the money to:
    - help "Child's Dream" an organisation that gives children in Thailand a chance of a proper education and that I'm quite fond of
    - support all my family members a little (also all my three cousins and my godmother)
    - look for an own appartment and move out
    - start my own IT company
    - buy tons of books and comics and pop vinyls and cds and movies (the list would go on and on, but I think these are the basics :P)

What would you do with a billion dollars?

Happy anniversary and have a nice weekend!

  9. Happy 4th blogoversary, Ate Kate. No joke here, you served as an inspiration for me to start blogging (along with other filipino bloggers). You're so cool to interact with and I hope that many more will follow your awesome blog. I wish you many more years in blogging, and of course more books to read :)

Well, a billion is already too much. I'd give to the church, and to my family. And then maybe I'll keep 2 million. You know, because of books hahaha.

  10. I'm going to build a shelter for abandoned/abused/stray animals! Of course I'd place a library somewhere near it too!

    Happy happy anniversary!

  11. Happy 4th Blogiversary, Kate! If I have a billion dollars, I want a simple house with an attic library and travel the world with my family. The remaining amount will go to my savings and invest for a Book Cafe business. :)

  12. Happy 4th! That's such a great achievement! I'm not entering the giveaway just because I have way too many books. :D

  13. Thank you for the giveaway, Kate! and Congratulations! <3 If I have a billion dollars, I would probably travel the world, okay fine, you got me. I'll go every year at BEA. lol. And then build a house full of books. And finally, I will build and invest on a bookshop/cafe business. The last one, I'll be starting to save money already :P just in case. LOL.

  14. Hi Kate and congrats on your 4 years !! I'm sure that's an amazing accomplishment! If I woke up one day with a billion dollars in my bank account i would:
    - donate to St.Jude's Medical hospital
    - Send money to help Syrian Refugees.
    - buy my parents their own house.
    - by myself a house .
    - pay for medical school.
    - design a library in my house dedicated to my books.
    - go on my dream vacation.
    - buy books and just give them away to avid readers on twitter.
    - start my own book shop called : "Raneem's Reads"
    - save the rest for a rainy day

  15. Congrats on four years! As for your question, I would... Take care of family. Donate to charity. Buy and support books I love and gift them people. Maybe I can finally make that dream come true of parachuting books out of a plane? haha

    1. You can definitely do that with 1B$! That will be awesome!

  16. Congrats, Kate! Wow. 4 years. WOW. I'm proud to say that I'm one of your avid follower (since your tumblr days). Though I'm always a silent follower. I comment every now and then but that's it. Haha. :D Okay, to answer your question, I will prioritize making my very own library (like the one in Beauty and the Beast) then I will go on a year long vacation in Japan and South Korea. :D And after accomplishing those, I'd donate the rest of the money to a charity or maybe make a library (like the ones abroad) here in the Philippines. We badly need one.

And as for waking up with a million dollars, I'd most likely use it to help my mum pay off her mortgage, buy myself a nice little place, and use the rest to pay off student loans if I get in to uni eventually. And lots of books, of course. ;)
